Serves 3-4 people
Prep Time: 30 minutes to 48 hours
Cook Time: 60 minutes
Use about half the sauce packet and apply the sauce generously to the surface of the chicken.
Put the chicken in the fridge, and marinate for at least 30 minutes. I let mine marinate for 24 hours, but you can marinate the chicken for up to 48 hours. Note: the longer you let it marinate, the more rich the flavor.
After the chicken is done marinating, you’ll want to cook it in the oven. For the 2.5 lb chicken, I cooked it for an hour at 350° F. If you have a different size, be sure to check the packaging for suggested cooking times.
Once the time is up, pull the chicken out of the oven and make sure it is cooked. The best way to tell is to stab one of the thighs right with a meat skewer. You’ll want to stab the thickest part of the thigh. There should be juices that should flow out; if they’re clear, it’s cooked. If not, put it back in for another 10-15 minutes and then try again.
You drizzle the other half of the sauce on the finished chicken for some added flavor or use it as a dipping sauce like I did below.
